Master the Trial with U4GM and FH6 Cars

Series 2 Week 2 looks simple on the Festival Playlist, then the Trial starts and everything gets messy fast. One teammate misses a braking point, another shoves the pack into a wall, and suddenly the whole lobby is chasing lost points. If you want a cleaner shot at the reward, start with the right FH6 Cars choice and treat this event like a team race, not a hot-lap contest.

Why this Trial trips people up

The rules sound harmless enough: A800, 1990s supercars, Unbeatable AI. In practice, that combo creates a weird balance. The cars are quick, but still old-school enough to get twitchy under braking or when you clip a curb. Japan's roads don't forgive much either. You get narrow sections, walls close to the racing line, and just enough speed to punish every tiny mistake. That's why loads of players lose this event before the second race even settles down.

The bigger issue, though, is scoring. Plenty of people still drive the Trial like it's a solo championship. It isn't. Your team score matters more than your personal finish. So if you're running fourth and your teammate behind you is clearly faster, let them go. No drama. They'll likely catch another AI or two, and that's usually worth more than you defending a place you can't really hold. You'd be surprised how often the whole thing swings because one player understood that.

Cars and setup that actually help

1. Pick the Ferrari F355 for balance.

2. Use the Diablo SV if credits are tight.

3. Download a grip tune, not a top-speed tune.

Let's be real here: most failed Trial runs don't die from bad pace, they die from panic, ego, and one terrible first corner.

Quick comparison before you queue

These two cars keep coming up for a reason. They're accessible, they suit the class limit, and they don't feel horrible when the race gets scrappy.

Car Main strength Best for
Ferrari F355 Berlinetta Stable turn-in and smooth acceleration Players wanting easy control
Lamborghini Diablo SV Strong pace with no credit cost Players using the Barn Find option

If you're unsure, the Ferrari is the safer blind pick. The Diablo can be brilliant too, but only if the tune keeps it planted on corner exit.

Stuff people ask when they're stuck

Someone asked me the other day if winning race one basically means the Trial is already done.

Not even close. One bad lobby pile-up in race two changes everything, so keep farming AI positions every single race.

How to drive it without losing your mind

Race one should be about survival first, pace second. Get off the line cleanly, avoid lunging into turn one, and watch what the AI does on corner exit. They often brake early, then hesitate when the road opens up. That's your passing chance. On tighter streets, don't force side-by-side moves unless the gap is obvious. Wall contact kills momentum, and in these older supercars it can take ages to recover. A calm run usually beats a flashy one. If your garage still feels thin for future playlists, a lot of players quietly buy Forza Horizon 6 Cars ahead of time so they're not scrambling on Thursday night, and honestly, that makes the whole weekly grind far less annoying.
